Here's part two of our collaboration with the
Itty Bitty Party Committee; this time we're styling a look for a day time wedding. Daytime weddings can be tricky because the ceremony could be hours before the reception, leaving party guests with hours to hang out. Cake's look is inspired by the old wedding saying of "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."
Cake started styling her look with her "something old' which is this sequins pencil skirt from Free People; it went on sale after the holidays and she's been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it. Next up "something new," the white peplum top is one of the newest trends for the spring/summer season. It's an easy top to throw on for a casual day of running errands or can easily be paired with a skirt; the perfect top for a day wedding! For Cake's "something borrowed" she picked a men's wear inspired blazer. It's relax fit can easily transition from morning to afternoon to dinner. And if you don't own a men's inspired blazer, don't fret, perhaps one of the groomsmen will be kind enough to offer you one to borrow for the night (this is how Cake met her husband!) To top the look off Cake wore some bangles that had a hint of "something blue." So don't forget, inspiration can come from anywhere, just remember to have fun with it!
