sorry that we missed a post yesterday, 1/2 of cake & valley was still traveling back from new mexico! {and what a long trip that is!!!} we thought we'd do a little tuesday styling inspiration and show you all that you can still wear white even after labor day. just take your favorite white pants* and pair them with anything that has a great fall color; deep red, mustard & burnt yellow, any type of brown, or even a great orange! basically any color green leaves would change too! HA!

add some fun accessories in brassy hues or dark rich colors & you'll be all set to wear white after labor day. hope this gets you all inspired & helps you break those silly old-fashioned fashion rules!!

'cation time. cake & valley.

this weekend is a weekend of vacation time for the two of us. one is a weekend get away, and the other is stay-cation. cake is off to new mexico to support her hubby in a college soccer tournament and valley is hosting another sister in chicago. we'll be sure to share pictures in the upcoming week or so. its hard to travel without one another. sitting in the airport, giggling on the plane, and waiting for your baggage to come down the carousel is much more enjoyable when you have your best friend next to you.soon enough we'll be in the same city and craziness will ensue.

can we get an amen. cake & valley.

when we started this blog we never really set any goals for ourselves except to have fun together. in the beginning we didn't even want to tell anyone we had a blog. we were blog-shy. we weren't sure if we'd be able to sustain a blog that focused on us doing stuff together when we live 900 miles away from each other . . . but hey we're making it work. we'll roll with all the curves life throws our way :)

however, maybe about a month ago we were talking about how, despite not having any real end goals with the blog, we would feel really accomplished if another blogger listed us on their blog {much like how we have a blog lust list.} and then you know what happened . . . we're listed on a blog! you can imagine how many high pitched screams were shared over facetime that evening!  just take a look for your self!!!

so can we get an amen & a hallelujah.

"what's that you said?"...."oh you saw these shorts last week on valley? well, they are so comfortable & cute!"

as you scroll through this post you'll slowly quickly notice that we're missing a few pictures. you'll probably ask yourself, "three pictures? really . . . come on we need more than that!" but the truth is  when we headed out to take these pictures the sun was setting and we needed to find a photo location stat!  these blooming bushes were in our parents neighbor's yard and we LOVED how beautiful they looked & the light was perfect. however, we felt a little weird about wandering into another person's yard. so we continued our hunt for another photo location.  we tried out a few alternative spots but none were working.  so, we strolled back to this location.

we noticed that there were no cars parked at the neighbor's house which probably meant no one was home. we quietly convinced ourselves we could quickly sneak into their yard and snap some photos. so we did! we're both happy with the way the photos turned out; but, we rushed to take outfit photos and missed out on snapping a few more detailed pictures of our outfits.  hence only three pictures today.

we were both so nervous that our neighbors were secretly spies and their lawn was hardwired to alert the police of any strange activity as soon as anyone stepped on the grass; that we both kept looking around for the police cars to come zooming around the corner, surround the yard, and arrest us! HA!

and that's a little tuesday story for all our readers :)
