uniform. valley.

ummmmmm . . . .  how is it already the middle to end of april & this is our first post of the month?!?!?! like what?!?! good thing this post is chalked full of six delicious looks :)

we love us a routine, or a uniform. it makes mornings so much easier. but a uniform doesn't have to mean boring. especially if you fill your closet full of clothes that fit your body & fit into your lifestyle. so this post is a peek into valley's "in real life" looks. valley works two jobs, just moved into a new house, recently got married {pic of her wedding coming soon, because it was beyond}, has three dogs, and tries to see family & friends as much as possible because, well, she's the best {says her twin sister cake!}

as you can see below valley loves classic pieces with a twist. below each look we've added a brief caption & tried to link to as many pieces as possible. however, if we've missed something give us a holler & we'll try to hook a girlfriend up with a link!

hope you enjoy.

cake & valley

yup classic pieces are valley's jam. here's a typical look into what work wear looks like for her. cable knit sweater, leather pleated skirt, black suede booties & a high pony to top it off. love all the textures. sweater; anthropologie {similar here}, skirt: banana republic {vegan leather alternative here}, shoes: old navy, tights: target.

another day in the office another classic combo with a classic valley twist- a layered turtleneck! if you know anything about valley she LOOOOVES a black turtleneck. actually any turtleneck! black turtleneck: michael stars {long sleeve version here}, white linen top: urban outfitters {similar here}; joggers: j.crew, flats: target.

valley's second job is working part-time at j.crew. don't even get us started on the amazing sales you can score when you work there. both of our closets are full of items from there. good quality, fun colors, and classic fitting clothes are too good to pass up. jean jacket: old navy, sweater: j.crew {similar here}, chinos: j.crew, shoes: j.crew.

valley said she looked "frumpy" in this look so she refursed to take a standing selfie. but we love the classic pairing of navy with a dark green chino. the bow detail on the neckline is a perfect feminine flair this look was craving. sweater: banana republic, pants: j.crew, shoes: old navy.

so we've said it in almost every caption but another classic look . . . . that's why it's a uniform people! skinny black going out pants, black blazer, both paired with a fun t-shirt, statement earrings, slicked back hair & red lips. easy peasy lemon squeezy! pants: j.crew, blazer: target, shirt: F21, earrings: j.crew, shoes: old navy. {and how cute it otis sleeping in the background!!!}

this next look is a little bit more playful but pulls from the classic undertones of nautical stripes, a closet staple of brown boots, and finally the fun off the shoulder trendy. dress: j.crew, boots: steve madden {black version here}. {ps. doggies name is ava}

and this last look is for a sunday full of running errands. slouchy sweater, slouchy white tanke, skinny jeans, & the forever comfy classic ugg boots. also a close up on the halo braid- because what are dirty hair days for, if not halo braids!!! sweater: urban outfitters, tank: eileen fisher, jeans: target, boots: ugg.
