half turban. cake.

Alright readers, here's our first tutorial {yippee}
the half turban.

as requested, the half turban look that cake rocked here & valley rocked here. we tried to break it down step by step as best as we could. when you're trying it out at home follow the pictures & description of each step. if you get stuck or confused just let us know and we'll walk you through it! good luck and enjoy.

now go and work the heck out of your half turban style!

xo. cake & valley

start with a big scarf. it needs to wrap around your head twice.

fold it into a long rectangle.  thin/thickness is up to your personal style.

start in the back and bring the two ends to the front.

 cross the two sides over each other

as soon as you've crossed them, start twisting both ends in the same direction {think counter clockwise or clockwise, either way will get you the same effect} make sure to make a full circle. you'll have to quickly let go of one end and re-grab it in order to make the full circle, otherwise your arms will get all tangled. that is unless you're houdini :)

at this point side 1 should have returned to it's original side {same for side 2} and you should have a little twisted/turban knot at the front of your head!

next bring the two ends to the back and double knot them together.

tie them tight so all your hard work doesn't go to waste!

tuck in any hair that is making a mushroom head affect. or any part of the scarf that is out of place.

here's a close up of the font knot.

here's a close up of the back.

all finished, you should have a half turban :)

  1. Super cute! You can totally rock this. I haven't tried this trend before. I need to find a scarf first and practice.

  7. This is one of my favorite ways to wear scarves in the summer. It's the perfect way to dress up a more casual outfit and essential for bad hair days.
